Description
PD132 Single - Loop Vehicle Detector Product For Barrier Gate

PD132 Single - Loop Vehicle Detector Product For Barriers

1. Overview

The PD132 Single - Loop Vehicle Detector is a high - performance device designed for accurate vehicle detection in various traffic management and access control applications. It offers reliable operation and a range of adjustable parameters to suit different installation scenarios.

2. Technical Parameters

Power Supply

  • It supports multiple power supply options: AC 110/220V ± 10% 50/60Hz and DC 12/24V. For detailed power - related information, please check the body label of the device.

Sensitivity

  • The sensitivity is adjustable with 4 levels, allowing users to fine - tune the detector's response to vehicles according to specific needs.

Working Frequency

  • The working frequency range is 20KHz - 170KHz, which helps avoid crosstalk from adjacent loops or other interference sources.

Response Time

  • It has a fast response time of 10ms, ensuring timely detection of vehicle presence.

Working Temperature

  • The detector can operate in a wide temperature range from - 20°C to + 85°C, making it suitable for various environmental conditions.

Humidity

  • It can handle humidity levels up to 95% (non - condensing), ensuring reliable performance in humid environments.

Presence Time

  • The maximum presence time for unlimited presence is not specified, but for limited presence, it is 500ms.

Max. Loop Size

  • The maximum loop size it can support is 8M x 1M, providing flexibility in loop layout design.

Output Mode

  • The output mode is Relay, which is a common and reliable way to transmit detection signals.

Feeder Length

  • It can work with a feeder length of up to 10M (twisted, a minimum of 20 twists per meter), ensuring proper signal transmission from the loop to the detector.

3. Working Status Indication

  • Power Indicator: Lights up during working hours, providing a clear visual indication of the device's power status.
  • Detection Indicator: After power - on, the detector automatically calibrates within about 3 seconds. During calibration, the green indicator is always on, and there should be no vehicles on the loop. After calibration, the green indicator goes out when there is no car and stays on when a car is detected. If the green indicator is abnormal, it indicates a frequency adjustment issue.

4. Key Functions

Frequency Adjustment

  • The user can change the frequency of the loop to avoid crosstalk from adjacent loops or interference. The detector provides four frequency options, which can be adjusted using the DIP1 and DIP2 on the panel.

Sensitivity Adjustment

  • Using the DIP3 and DIP4 on the panel with 4 levels of adjustment, users can set the sensitivity. Start from the lowest level. If the vehicle detector does not work stably, increase the sensitivity by one level at a time until stable operation is achieved.

Automatic Sensitivity Boost

  • This function can be enabled or disabled via DIP5 on the panel. When enabled, it provides an automatic boost to the sensitivity, which is useful in certain detection scenarios.

Filter Mode

  • When environmental electromagnetic disturbances are large and cause malfunctions, users can set DIP6 to ON to increase the filter coefficient to cut off the disturbances. In filter mode, the reaction time of the detector is delayed, and the sensitivity is reduced. Usually, if the detector does not work normally, check the loop, embedding, feeder, etc., adjust the frequency and sensitivity, and then use the enhanced filter mode if needed.

Relay Output

  • There are 8 relay output factory default settings (DIP7 - ON, DIP8 - ON). Different settings determine the behavior of the relays (K1 (Pin3/4) and K2 (Pin5/6)) when a vehicle enters and leaves the loop. For example, in one setting, when the vehicle enters the loop, K1 (Pin3/4) will open, and K2 (Pin5/6) will close for 500ms and then open.

Reset Function

  • When the detector is powered on, pressing the reset button on the panel will restart the detector and reset it to a car - free state.

5. Installation Information

Loop and Feeder Specification

  • The loop must consist of insulated wire with a minimum copper cross - sectional area equivalent to 1.5 square millimeters. The feeder should be of the same material, not twisted, with a minimum of 20 twists per meter. Joints in the loop or feeder should be soldered and terminated in a waterproof junction box for reliable performance. When long feeders are used or routed with other electrical wiring, a screened cable is recommended for the feeder, and the screen must be earthed at the detector end only.

Sensing Loop Geometry

  • Sensing loops should be rectangular in shape and installed with the longest sides at right angles to the direction of traffic movement for optimal detection. The length of the loop is determined by the width of the roadway to be monitored, and it should reach within 1 foot of each edge of the roadway. In general, loops with a circumference measurement in excess of 30 feet should be installed using 2 turns of wire, while loops of less than 30 feet in circumference should use three or more turns. It is good practice to install with a circumference measurement of less than 18 feet for better performance.

Loop Installation

  • All permanent loops should be installed in the roadway by cutting slots with a masonry cutting disc or similar device. A 45° cropped channel around the outside of the loop helps reduce damage to the loop cable at right - angled corners. A continuous pass route for the feeder is obtained by sawing a slot with a depth to reach the detector before inserting the cable into the feeder slot.

6. Application Scenarios

The PD132 Single - Loop Vehicle Detector is ideal for use in parking lots, traffic signal control systems, toll booths, and access control gates. It provides accurate vehicle detection to ensure smooth traffic flow, proper access management, and efficient operation of related systems.
